Every great adventure starts with a single decision. Mine started with nine Golden Retrievers and a dream of Norwegian mountains.

One year ago, I made a choice that everyone questioned. I packed up my life and moved to Norway with nine Golden Retrievers. Not for work. Not for love. For them. For their dreams. For ours.

Sandland sits on Lake Totak, where Vikings left rock carvings and folk musicians crafted melodies that echo through generations. This is Telemark – the heartland of Norwegian culture, where tradition runs as deep as the lake itself.

Nestled at the foot of Hardangervidda, Europe's largest high mountain plateau, Sandland offers our pack terrain that stretches endlessly into wilderness. At over 900 meters elevation, this is where golden coats meet golden light, and every day is an adventure.

Lake Totak, at 306 meters deep (1,004 feet), is Norway's 11th deepest lake. Carved by glaciers during the Ice Age, it has the characteristics of a fjord – a testament to the ancient forces that shaped this dramatic landscape.
